Effective June 24, New York State has lifted its COVID-19 state of emergency. This follows the June 15 lifting of restrictions across most commercial settings as 70 percent of New Yorkers aged 18 or older have received the first dose of their COVID-19 vaccination series. The State’s health guidance and New York Forward industry specific guidelines – including social gathering limits, capacity restrictions, social distancing, cleaning and disinfection, health screening, and contact information for tracing – are now optional among most commercial settings.
Unvaccinated individuals continue to be responsible for wearing masks, in accordance with federal CDC guidance. Garrett Chapel has lifted its COVID-19 restrictions pursuant to the governor’s order and the cessation of the state of emergency, but continues to operate under the CDC guidance pertaining to unvaccinated individuals. Garrett Chapel will rely on self-reporting of vaccination status (i.e., the honor system) and will operate at full capacity. Unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks inside the Chapel.
